FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What kind of car should I bring?  Does it have to be

a sports car?

We will instruct you in any road-legal car.    Your car does not need to be fast

for us to instruct you in safe driving at speed.

Do I need extra insurance for my car to go on track?

Yes - we recommend that you cover your car for on-track driving, and we have

discounts in place with our partners Hagerty Insurance for this service.

Do I drive or does the Instructor drive?

For the very first time on track our Chief Instructor will drive on the track with all

cars following in a line - learning where the circuit goes and becoming familiar with the

sorts of speeds expected of you.  This will NOT be fast.  Our instructors can drive

you around the circuit so that you become familiar with driving on track and what it

feels like.  More often, they will sit alongside you and talk you all around the circuit,

telling you where to brake, where to accelerate, and how to drive through the corners.

The circuit will be "coned out", showing brake, turn and exit points to help you keep

to a good line.

I have never driven at a circuit before- what do I have to

do to the car before I arrive?

We will send you a welcome pack listing things that you should check before you set out - including things like water, oil and other fluid levels, brake pads/shoes, tyre wear - really everything that you would check before setting out on a long journey.  On arrival at the

circuit you should empty the car of all paraphernalia that can rattle around, and pump up

your tyres a few extra psi, but we will remind you of this in the Briefing.

Your car will have to satisfy a noise test (105dB), which is just over the MOT noise limit.

If your car is excessviely noisy, extra silencers cann be purchased - please enquire by phone to check with us.

What will I learn?

Our aim is that you go home feeling that you have learnt a great deal about driving safely, no longer intimidated by the power of your classic car.   Our free "Handling Clinic" will also lift the veil on basic car handling settings.

What else can I do during the day?

We are alloweing our Sponsors and Partrners an opportunity to meet the public - come and have a chat about the best oils, tyres, and other products for your cars.
